The Reviewing Process.
Reviewing cars was something I fell into by pure chance.
I had owned many BMW's and was near on obsessed with them, if I have to be totally honest.
As a boy, my father had two monstrous seven series in South Africa in the pre-apartheid days. He had the shark nose type, that shared the same front end to the awesomely beautiful 635csi. I was blown away by the cars performance and build quality and I became aware that the Germans seemed to be on a completely different level with regards to car manufacture.
Having reviewed thousands of cars since 2012, I can say that the consumers really should demand more from car manufacturers. The average car manufacture produces total rubbish, there is no need to hide the facts, most cars are total s**t.
There are two reasons why this is the case and the first one is that people buy the rubbish. The second is that the car manufacturers can.......it really is that simple.
I am always being accused on You tube of being biased towards German cars, it is not being biased, it is a solid fact and a generally accepted principle that German engineering is superior. I am just stating facts, it is not favouritism at all. Sure, the Japanese produce extremely reliable cars, in fact the top ten most reliable cars are allegedly Japanese but let me ask you the reader a question, how many cars do you see driving around that were manufactured in the 1980's?.....they are out there.
The answer to that is that they are few and far between but I can tell you now that you never see a Honda, Nissan, or even Mitsubishi. What you do see is classic cars, or old Beemers and Mercedes. Actually, if you have ever been to Morocco? nearly every taxi is an old Mercedes diesel, they are never Japanese.
Germans make damn good cars and they surpass nearly all others because they are built to last.
Please do not think that I have loved every BMW that left the factory, as I have not. some of them over the past 10 years have been ugly computers and BMW really did go through some kind of acne stage. Luckily, that did not last and yet again BMW are bringing out some damn sexy looking vehicles that leave me and millions others drooling. The ugly old dogs from the past were about as welcome as a ginger haired step son but they were still selling because they were good.
